The picture (likely
taken in late 1905 early 1906) is of Silas Chapman, Mary Louisa,
and family.
I know the top right
was my Grandfather Silver Elmore, and that the parents (Middle) are Mary
Louisa and Silas Chapman
I believe that:
Top Middle was George
Atholwood, and top left was Silas C.
(Christopher), top right Silver Elmore. Middle
right is Herbert Thorne, and middle left is William Henry
Corey. Middle centre is Florence Alberta. Front
Left (baby) is Hugh, Front middle is likely Louisa Hope, and Front right
is Ivan Holding Hugh
is Mary Louisa (Tingley), and holding Ivan is Silas Chapman.
Charles Tupper had
drowned in 1900 (boating accident?) before the picture.
Sir Charles Tupper
(Doctor/Politician) was said to have been the family physician in the
early years of the family. Likely this is where that name was
introduced into the family. My father (Silver Elmore's son) was
also named Charles Tupper)
Silas Chapman
Hayward was mortally banged up by a moose when blazing/marking
trees. The Hayward's were basically lumberman back then.
At the moment with the site being so
new I am concentrating on putting up the bare facts. There are
several notes that I will get around to such as the moose story.
