born 5 Feb 1799 in Brockville, Leeds Co., Ontario, Canada. "He
was a large man, his height being about five feet eleven inches, and his
weight nearly, or quite 200 lbs "The eldest son, had returned to
Brockville district where he married and settled for a time"
<prior to the time of Jacob Sr building in *East Gwillimbury about
1821 (*about 37 miles north of Toronto)> He married Chloe PARISH.
"Their issue was two children, who with their mother was soon
deceased". "He then left the county of Leeds and returned to
the township Markham, and married again Catherine MOORE
who was born about 1803) of that place and subsequently returned to East
Gwillimbury, and bought a farm some three fourths of a mile from his
father's home. Oran died April 23rd 1876 age 77 years 2 months, 18 days
and interned in the Queensville cemetery. Mrs Belfry was 85 at the time
that this book <A Brief History of Jacob Belfry Sen.... by P.
DeGuerre in 1888> They had the following children:

farmer near Luddington, Mich. They had the following children:
- Margaret Ann DUNHAM
- Catherine Elizabeth DUNHAM

- Eddy DUNHAM
- Mary Ann BELFRY died in 1850 at about twenty years of age
- Thirza BELFRY married Mr. William Long, a son of Richard Long. She
died February 12, 1860 being about 28 years of age. They had:

listed as age 45 in the 1881 census married Elizabeth WEDDEL
who is listed as the age of 47 in the 1881 census, a daughter of
Robert Weddel, son of John Weddel.
- Chloe BELFRY married a Mr. R. Lean. Then at Shakespeare died
December 27, 1865 in her 28th year of age, leaving two sons. Roderic
Lean came from Nova Scotia. Their issue are:

- Catherine BELFRY married a George Long, a farmer near Lebanon, and
brother of Wm. Long. they had:
