born 16 Oct 1809 in Elizabethtown Tp, Leeds Co, Ontario, Canada. His father accidentally broke his leg at the Potash works, and being there alone, had to call for assistance, for he was away from the house, and out of sight. Peter his son heard him calling and went to assist him and carried him to the house on his back. Afterwards through taking a sever cold, he died of quick consumption, in the twenty-fifth year of his life.
