Maree Euphemia (Campbell) Logan December 19, 1928 – February 18, 2021 Maree Logan passed away peacefully on February 18, after a full and rich life. She was predeceased in 2011 by Ralph, her loving husband of 62 years. She was predeceased by her son Alan (Sherry), and sisters Cathy (Norm), Elaine (Ron), and Isabelle (Jim). Maree was born in Maree Euphemia Logan nee CampbellGairloch, Scotland, in the vicinity of Loch Maree. She was raised in the beaches area of Toronto, the second of four daughters. Her father was a big Scot, who maintained close scrutiny over those who called on his daughters. Maree had a gift for managing finance, and worked for Clarkson & Gordon Chartered Accountants. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Ralph, on a blind date. Maree and Ralph were married on June 12, 1948, and subsequently settled in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, where Ralph setup his optometry practice. Life in Portage was filled with family, work, and a strong dedication to community. Maree was a loving wife and mother, dedicated to her children and their success. She managed their optometrist/optician business, and it thrived at her hand. Maree was an accomplished bridge player, and competed in many tournaments sanctioned by the American Contract Bridge League. She was ranked as a Grand Life Master, the ACBL’s highest level. She loved the competition and challenge. Bridge also served as the social backdrop, for a rich set of friendships in Portage. Maree’s calendar was always filled with community activities, entertaining, and the many friendships she enjoyed. In 1985, Ralph and Maree retired to White Rock, BC, where they enjoyed travel, leisure, and family. Bridge remained an important part of Maree’s busy schedule. She also worked tirelessly to care for Ralph through his Alzheimer’s. The family thanks the staff at Whitecliff Care Center, Peace Arch Hospital, and Evergreen Baptist Care Home for their valuable assistance. Per Maree’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC, 300 – 828 West 8th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V5Z 1E2.
