William Sutherland Doyle, also known as Sutherland Doyle born
15 Mar 1847, Five Islands, Colchester County, Nova Scotia?
married:
- (1) Eunice Robinson, also known
as Eunice O'Brien, 25 Jan 1881, in Amherst Head, Cumberland County,
Nova Scotia, born 1854, (daughter of Merchant Robinson and Eunice
Taylor) died 23 Mar 1886, Warren Baptist Cemetery, Warren,
Cumberland County, Nova Scotia.
- Eunice was a Widow when she married William S. Doyle, and
O'Brian was her married name since she had a daughter named
O'Brian when she married him. There is a Trenholm
Robinson living with William and Eunice doyle in the 1881
census and in his marriage information he lists his parents as
Merchant and Eunice, which is the same the names as Eunice's
parents. This suggest that Eunice's maiden name was Robinson.
- Children by Eunice Robinson:
- Mary O'brien, born 1875.14 ,
- James A. Doyle, born 1883,died 18 Mar 1884. James A.
Doyle's headstone list his parents as W.S. and Eunice Doyle.
- Mable Doyle, born 12 May 1884.
- (2) Alice R.(achel?) Jackson, 19 Feb 1890, in Amherst Head,
Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, born 16 Nov 1869, Lorneville,
Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, (daughter of Bentley H. Jackson and
Mary Ann Goodwin).
- Children by Alice R. Jackson:
- Verna U. Doyle, born 8 Nov 1894.
- Hazel G. B. Doyle, born 28 Sep 1897 (who is listed as a son)
- Daphne? Doyle, census name Dofne? Doyle, census name Defna?

Dear Bruce,
It is OK with me if you list my name. Here is my information on
William Sutherland Doyle's family, so far. (above - formatted to fit
the site - Bruce)
I am wondering if you knew that there is a book on "The Allen
family of Amherst Head, Nova Scotia : Some Memories of the Lives of Ida
May Baxter (1869-1951) and William Anslie
Allen(1863-1930) taken from many sources and put in the present form by
Willard Allen (grandson)" The reason I ask is that Ida May Baxter
was Trenholm Robinson's Sister-in-law and it lists in the baxter line
genealogy Trenholm's dates as 1858-1920. This is about all it says abt
Trenholm, exact that it says that he used an old barn of the Allens as
storage and they refer to him as "Uncle Tren". I hope this
helps.
Yours truly,
Michael
